How To Make Green Tea Scrub (3 ways)
I have been experimenting with green tea and dried rose petals scrubs and these 3 recipes are the ones I like the most. So, if you don’t mind elaborated recipes, follow the step by step directions.
At the same time, if you want easy recipes, make the sugar scrub cubes using just one part of the recipe.
1. Homemade Green Tea Scrub With Shea Butter and Soap
Ingredients
- 150 gr granulated white sugar
- 50 gr white melt and pour soap base
- 20 gr sweet almond oil
- 70 gr white Shea butter
- One tablespoon dried rose petals
- 15 drops rose essential oil
- 1 green tea bag
- Pink colorant (optional)
- Silicon molds
Directions for step one
- In a bowl combine melted Shea butter and dried rose petals. Stir.
- Add 10 drops of rose essential oil and pink colorant. Stir.
- Fill half of the molds with the mixture.
Directions for step two
- In another bowl combine the white sugar with one green tea bag powder.
- Melt the soap and quickly (soap dries really fast) mix with the sugar mixture.
- Pour over the Shea butter layer and place it in the freezer until it hardens.
Unmold and cut in similar size cubes.
2. With Soap and Almond Oil
Ingredients (green side)
- 150 gr of granulated white sugar
- Two bags of green tea
- 75 gr sweet almond oil
- 30 gr base soap (white soap or clear soap)
- 5 drops lemongrass essential oil
- Cosmetic grade green colorant
- Silicone molds like these ones
How to make it (step one)
These scrubs have two sides of different colors and ingredients. First, we are going to make the green side and then, the pink side.
- In a bowl combine sugar and tea bags powder.
- In a separate container melt soap, add 5 drops of lemongrass essential oil and green colorant. Stir and combine with sugar and tea mixture.
Fill half of the molds with the mixture. Now onto the second part.
Ingredients (pink side)
- 150 gr of granulated white sugar
- One teaspoon dried rose petals
- 75 gr sweet almond oil
- 30 gr base soap (white or clear)
- 20 drops rose essential oil
- Cosmetic grade pink colorant
- Silicone molds (I like these ones)
How to make it (step two)
- In a bowl combine sugar, dried rose petals, and almond oil.
- Melt soap and add it to the sugar mixture.
- Add rose essential oil and pink colorant. Stir.
Pour the mixture on top of the green layer and place in the freezer until it sets.
Unmold.
3. Sugar Scrub Recipe With Coconut Oil & Soap
Ingredients
- 150 gr granulated white sugar
- 50 gr clear melt and pour soap base
- 50 gr coconut oil
- 1 bag green tea
- One tablespoon dried rose petals powder
- Rose essential oil (optional)
- Silicon molds like these ones
How to make it (step one)
Grind one tablespoon of dried rose petals in a coffee grinder to make a powder. Mix it with a few dried rose petals.
- Melt the soap in the microwave, add green tea powder, and stir.
- Cover the bottom of the molds with this mixture.
How to make it (step two)
- Now combine sugar, green tea, and the dried rose petals powder and stir.
- Melt coconut oil and add the rose essential oil.
- Mix it with the sugar mixture and stir.
- Fill in the rest of the molds with the sugar mixture (on top of the soap layer).
- Place them in the freezer until they are set.
Unmold the sugar scrub cubes.
