Are you using sunscreen every day to protect your skin from ultraviolet light? That will be your very first step in preventing dark skin patches.
Let’s make these home remedies for pigmentation.
These ingredients help to clarify the skin, but if you really want them to work you need to use them often and for a few months.
You could alternate the recipes and use a couple of them every week.
Or, you can use the same remedy during the week and then a new one the next week.
Is up to you what you decide, but keep using them to see results.
Note: To prevent solar interaction is best to use these remedies at night (especially the ones using lemon) and always apply sunscreen during the day.
1. Parsley + Milk Mask to Lighten the Skin
Be a queen, like Cleopatra, and bath your skin in milk. The lactic acid in milk helps to get rid of dead skin cells, exfoliating the skin. The skin will be smoother, brighter, and lighter.
For a facial overnight treatment, dip cotton on warm milk and apply over the face and neck until is covered.
Another way to do it is by blending milk with parsley. Apply with cotton and leave 20 minutes.
Rinse the next morning.
2. Onion Juice
It might not be the ideal natural ingredient because of the strong smell, but it does a good job lightening the skin.
Onions contain sulfur and vitamin C and when used as a skincare ingredient keep the skin and hair looking healthy.
Extract the juice of one red onion and soak a piece of cotton with it. Apply it over the dark spots or pigmented areas on your face and leave it 10 minutes.
Rinse with water.
Alternatively use onion juice mixed with cider vinegar and apply over the age spots. Leave overnight for a more intense treatment.
What is good for?
Besides clarifying the skin it also works wonders to reduce acne scars and fine lines.
Use the juice directly on hair to eliminate dandruff and prevent hair loss (by stimulating the hair’s follicles).

3. Cucumber & Natural Yogurt Facial Mask
These two natural ingredients are a match made in heaven to whiten the skin.
With the vitamins, C, and A of the cucumber and the exfoliating properties of yogurt your dark spots will be a thing of the past.
Peel a small piece of cucumber and make a paste with the flesh.
Add one tablespoon of natural yogurt and mix well.
If the mask is too runny add ground oatmeal until you form a thicker paste.
Apply over your face and neck and rest for 20 minutes.
Place two slices of cucumber over your eyes to reduce puffiness.
Wash your face with warm water and apply your usual moisturizer.
4. Blueberry and Oatmeal DIY Mask
This face mask is great to lighten the skin thanks to the fruit acids, the power of vitamin c, and the exfoliating properties of oatmeal.
Blend 1 tbsp of oatmeal, a handful of blueberries, 3 almonds, one teaspoon of honey, and 3 drops of lemon juice.
Apply on the face, neck, or hands for 30 minutes.
Remove using water.
Use it at night.
5. Potato + Honey Mask
Peel one potato, boil it and crush it using a fork.
Add two spoons of milk (Yes, it looks like mash) and one spoon of honey.
Stir well and applyvit to the troubled spots.
Leave it about 20 minutes and remove it with a clean wet sponge or just water.
6. Aloe Vera
Aloe vera has been used from time immemorial and it is said it was a top beauty treatment for Cleopatra and Nefertiti.
To get clear skin and reduce brown spots apply aloe vera gel directly from the plant.
Use it twice a day or leave it overnight.
7. Papaya Facial Mask
The enzyme papain has clarifying properties, making it an ideal ingredient to whiten the skin.
Peel and crush a papaya.
Add a few drops of lemon juice.
Mix it well and apply it over the brown spots for 20 minutes.
Rinse it using tepid water.
